Le Sud
A series about the southern incandescent light.
Eyes wrinkled, burnt by too many splinters, salt, and warm wind.
Bright light, hard shadows, skies without clouds, waters with fiery reflections...
This series of paintings try to reconstitute memories faded like old photos.
Only the essential remains (the contrast and the still intense sensations.)

Cabanes
[Cabanes] is a series of paintings in tribute to a ritual from the past: our Sundays' huts in South France countryside.
The childhood huts were life-sized (architectures rather than objects). The model used for my paintings are miniatures, quickly tinkered in a corner of my studio with some branches, scotch, ribbons, pieces of fabric ...
At the time, of course, we had to leave them on the spot. The today miniatures are still as ephemeral*, but I record their images on canvas.
(* The models are very fragile, and designed to last only the time to capture the image)
